COLOUR RESEARCH

Looking at the right habe side of the colours choosen, we think that the pastel colours work well together, isnt to childish, and as the current logo also use pastels, we think its good to stick to them.

Although these are also pastel colours, we think they are to dark in order to attract people.

These are also a good choice of pastel colours ranging from dark to light.

RESEARCH EVIDENCE OF POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS

All these logos are in the same business as the Paintbox, looking at these designs the ideas are very serious  and in their logo they have included text, which tells your straight away what their business is, which makes me think in a competitive market, the paint box would have that too. "Watt Works" i think this is a fun quirky logo, however by looking at it you would have no idea what or who the logo was for. By looking at different logos i think our logo defiantly needs to be self explanatory, brightly coloured to attract attention, however colours that will attract mainly and older age group.

Production Log

7th February: This lesson i have done secondary research on graphics, looking in to detail at colours, shapes, sizes that will go well with what was asked of us in the brief.

21st February: Today i started experimenting on illustator and playing around with different shapes and sizes and also colours. Also carryed on our secondary research, next week we need to look at simalir buisnesses and see what colours they are using and do a full logo search and see what would work well.

27th March: Today i wrote up on my blog what i spoke to the client about and what her thoughts were, Carrie continued to edit the design ideas to make sure they went with what they client wanted as her final logo.

Secondary research on graphics

Our client had informed us to create a new logo for her company "the paintbox". She wants us to produce a range of ideas for her to see, so then she can choose what shapes, sizes and colours she wants us to use to produce the final logo.

To have a understanding of the millions of different sizes, texts, shapes, formats there are have done some secondary research to see whats popular. However as the logo we have to design is for a "classy" professional business the research is going to have to be more specific to what we hope the logo to be like.
